Traits is a mechanic that provides bonuses at the establishment of a settlement in After Inc. It can either give stamina, train a new Fighter, or increase settlement resources at the start of the game.

List of traits[edit | edit source]

The a list of some population traits that can appear. When completing a level with the Diversity reward unlocked, the population traits on all levels are slightly modified (Some of traits with give more bonus, or can gain other bonus that other traits has)

One trait population has a maximum about four boosts, and has at least one Starting Resources boost.

List of boosts[edit | edit source]

Name Bonuses
Explore Discount +N Your first Explore costs N cheaper (if it costs less than the total discount, the next Explore gets the remainder of the discount).

When exploring area while Explore Discount apply, reduced turns time to explore the area depend number stamina reduced by this boost. If explore costs is equals or less than total discount, area is explored immediately.

Scavenge Discount +N Your first Scavenging costs N cheaper (if it costs less than the total discount, the next scavenging gets the remainder of the discount).
Building Discount +N Your first production (except water production) Building costs N cheaper (if it costs less than the total discount, the next building gets the remainder of the discount).

When building production while Building Discount apply, the building production is built immediately.

Fighters +N N Fighters are trained for free at the start of the game.
Population +N You start the game with extra +N population (included +N tents, +N settlers and +2 Authority).

Increase Starting Resources boost by +15% at the start of the game, for each of +N population increased.

Zombie Defence +N The first N awaken zombies enter the claim areas are killed automatically.
Starting Production +N% For the first 100 days, produce +N% more basic resources (Wood, Fuel, Food and Water).
Starting Resources +N% Start with storages of basic resources filled to N%.

This boost apply after the Storage Size boost, which can increase more starting resources.

Technology +N Start the game with extra N Technology levels (for free).
Stamina +N Start the game with extra +N Stamina.
Morale +N% Start the game with Morale is increase by +N%
Authority +N% Start the game with +N Authority more than normal.
Storage Size +N% Increase storage size for basic resources (Wood, Fuel, Food and Water) by +N% when starting the game.
