Difficulty settings alter various mechanics and have a significant impact on the gameplay experience of After Inc..
Common factors regarding upscaling difficulties[edit | edit source]
- Starting authority drops
- Morale, Abandonment process change faster. And more Authority loss from low morale.
- Maximum health of the Settlement decrease, and support strength to fighters reduced.
- Zombies are stronger, faster, aggressive and more be agitated. Fighters strength is reduced and more vulnerable.
- Worst situations can begin happen at the low population of the start, chance increase for worst outcome. And more Morale reduced if player delay answering it.
- Goals patience times is reduced, and more authority loss for not complete goal.
- Stamina cost for reclaim area action increased.
- Maximum stamina cost for scavenging resource increased.
- Fuel consumption during Winter increase, and more morale penalty for lack of fuel.

For strategic geniuses living in concrete bunkers

- Zombies are hungry.
Mega Brutal[edit | edit source]
For players who thought Brutal was Casual
- Trust died with everything else.
- The world is devastated.
- Zombies are near unstoppable
Additional Mega Brutal difficulties[edit | edit source]
Unlike other Ndemic Creations games, After Inc. has additional levels of Mega Brutal. Each level adds on from the previous one.
